It’s All About The Iterations

In this episode of Sink or Swim, I interviewed Blake Byrnes in Atlanta, GA about the iterations CrowdMind has gone through since it’s inception. Like Byrnes’, every company must Iterate or Die. Members of the company learn more about customers and their audience which causes them to rethink and improve upon the original business model.

The TechDrawl Sink or Swim series which may appear a simple process on surface has released only a few episodes to date and has been through 3 iterations. In order to give you more insight into the triggers of iterations, lets look at the TechDrawl scenario.

In version one of Sink or Swim, we interviewed two people at a time about various topics. These varied in lengths causing different viewing times for each person who watched the video. This was inconsistent and produced inconsistent video viewing metrics.

In version two, we decided I would interview one person about one specific topic and make the video short, roughly 8 minutes. The issue with this was that we brought out a cameraman, softbox lights, mics, interviewer, and interviewee for only 8 minutes of footage. The other issue is that the video would only be helpful for generating one post on TechDrawl.

In version three, the up and coming format, I will be interviewing one person with multiple topics but only spending 5 – 8 minutes per topic. This will maximize time spent shooting videos as well as create multiple posts that can be released over time. The time release schedule will provide consistency for readers. But until that happens, check out the video interview with Byrnes using iteration number two.
